Mt Albert Library facing temporary closure
A leaking roof could close the popular civic amenity for up to a year
Mt Albert Library could be shut for up to a year while its leaking roof is replaced and the building upgraded, at an estimated cost of $2.65 million.
The roof has been leaking for some time. One leak damaged the library’s computer systems. Council staff say the roof has reached the end of its life and patch repairs are no longer working.
Staff from Auckland Council’s Parks and Community Facilities team set out four options at an Albert-Eden Local Board workshop last week.
